Basamya tribe

The basamya is among eastern tribes in Uganda. They speak lusamya as their native language. They belong to Bantu group of people. Who are believed to have migrated from Congo basin. The came to settle in eastern from west.
The basamya practice subsistence farming. Mainly the produce is for home consumption. They also rear goats, pigs, rabbits and others. They used to wear skins and hides from livestock.
The samya still perform barbaric female genital mutilation. This has brought about females childlessness.
