 When Kintu ascended the throne of Buganda, Kyaddondo carried many giftes to him among which was this precious underwater treasure. On his way, it fell in the lake and it took the whole group so much trouble to find. Because of the significance it has among fishermen and the fact that finding it potrtends good luck and a big fish harvest, Kyaddondo turned it into his family`s totem. Kyaddondo who was said to be a son of Kintu but many historians assert that Kyaddondo was not Kintu`s son but merely arrived with him in Buganda. Kyaddondo as an area of Buganda comes from this particular personality. On arrival in Buganda with Kintu, Kyaddondo built in Busaaku Busujju. After a short while, he went to the present day Lubaga. From there he moved on to Mbuya and later on to Kawempe where he settled. All places he went were named after him and that is how Kyaddondo came to be so big a place.

Kyaddondo settled in Kawempe and had a son called Kagoma. After death, his son Kagoma became the heir. He moved from Kawempe and settled in Maganjo where he had a son called Lwomwa. Lwomwa begot Mugambwa. Mugambwa begot Wagaba. Wagaba did not agree with his siblings so he left and moved to Busiro however the title of the clan head is Kyaddondo and the clan seat is in Kawempe where Kyaddondo died.Their official duties were to bless the king`s house before he entered or any of his family members. Ssegguluma of the Nvuma clan was in charge of the king`s water for washing his face and hands in the morning to cast evil spirits away.

NTE CLAN Totem : Ente | etalina mukira Akabbiro : Nnnggaali Clan Leader : Katongole Estates : Mulema Ssaza : Buddu Omubala | Clan motto : Ekyuma nkiridde n’omukimba ngulidde. ORIGIN OF NTE CLAN  Katongole was from bunyoro, he had tailless cow . His leaving was a result of persecution from the king of Bunyoro who married his sister and unfortunately gave birth to an albino (namagoye). The king’s fortune-tellers advised him to kill the child, its mother and Katongole so as to end the cursed linage. Rumors reached Katoongole in time and he organized all members of his family to leave immediately. He hid in a forest called Teero near Lake Nnalubaale (Lake Victoria) through Mawokota. He later moved to Bijja, the present day Biikira where his sons Nakaana, Lukyamuzi and Lwegaba left to go to Mulema. ORIGIN OF NKIMA / MONKEY CLAN The origin of the Monkey Clan depends on the determination of where Kintu, as the first King of Buganda, came from . The origin of Kintu is heaven which renders the origin of the Monkey Clan to have been Buggala in Ssese Island. Monkey Clan was one of those people who had arrived in the country with Kintu. Balasi built a home in Malangala village in the county of Busujju. It is there that he got his son Bwoya.  Later Bwoya was appointed a Ssaabawaali chief, which is the chief in charge of the bachelor servants of the king. During his service as Ssaabawaali Bwoya got another son by the names of Mulegeya. Ssekabaka Kintu disappeared and is son Chwa I succeed him.
