The family of the late Peter Male in Kisubi has accused the
Kajjansi RDC, Patrick Mubiri, of being behind land grabbers who have come to
take their kibanja, which has even led to them being abducted and severely
beaten, almost losing their lives.
Godfrey Ntanzi, 68, a resident of Ndejje, complains that
this Resident District Commissioner has gone out of his way to prevent them
from utilizing their late father's land measuring about two acres located in
Buwaali, Kisubi Parish.
He adds that he is working together with his sister Immaculate Namakula and other people to reclaim their land.

Ntanzi says that as the heir, he had gone to the land to
inspect it and to install cameras to protect it from grabbers, but he was
shocked when this RDC came with a vehicle type known as a "Drone"
[security drone van] and they beat him with hammers and tore his trousers,
while his colleague he was with was hacked with a machete and left bleeding
profusely.
He said they were taken to his [RDC's] office, but
surprisingly no case was opened against them, however, he narrates that after
getting out of the ‘jaws of the lion’, he ran to Kisubi Police Station and
reported a case of assault under file, SD.REF. 20/14/07/2026.
He said that when their father Peter Male died in 1999, he
was succeeded by Emmanuel Kayiwa who died without having a child, and then
Godfrey Ntanzi succeeded him and was confirmed by the family to take
responsibility for this kibanja.
He wonders where the RDC got the powers to decide on their land which was given to their father by the White Fathers in 1940.

Peter Male Junior, who is also a son of the late Male, said
that recently, the RDC came with soldiers to this land and caused chaos which
included beating his brother Ntanzi who is now nursing wounds in hospital.
They showed a document which they say was written by Rev.
Fr. Mark Ssajjabi and signed by the Superior of Our Lady Queen of Virgins
Kisubi, Fr. Charles Lwanga Ssengendo on October 17, 2025, giving them
permission to develop the late Peter Male's kibanja located in Buwaali, Kisubi
Parish.
In his response, RDC Patrick Mubiru stated that these youths
who claim to be family members want to evict a 75-year-old woman from the
kibanja yet she has spent more than 50 years on it. He said he will not allow
impostors who claim to have come from Masaka with unclear kinship to evict the
old woman.
He added that he called them to his office and they told him they sold part of it long ago for 300 million shillings yet they have no agreement proving ownership of that Kibanja. He vowed to die for the truth to protect the old woman on the kibanja because even the Church knows her since the land belongs to the Church and she holds a kibanja on it.

The document they rely on as family inheritance and that
from the Church, he says he does not believe in, because many people have
forged various documents with the aim of defrauding.
He advised them to go and work and leave the old woman in
peace because he is ready to protect her and the law allows her to be there
because of the time she has spent on it, without that, they should go to court
if they have proof and documents of this kibanja.
Mubiru wonders why these people claiming for kibanja come at night yet they claim to be the rightful owners. He vowed to fight for the rights of those oppressed on land, but regarding tearing their trousers he said it is not true except that they were arrested and given police bond as investigations into their file continue, then they will face court.
