ATTORNEY GENERAL SAM MAYANJA HAILS PASTOR KAYANJA AS PILLAR OF BORN-AGAIN FAITH.

Attorney General Hon. Dr. Sam Mayanja has praised Pastor Robert Kayanja for his role in transforming the Born-Again movement in Uganda from temporary papyrus structures to permanent cathedrals.

Hon. Mayanja was speaking today as guest preacher at the Big Fix Holy Spirit Global Conference at Miracle Centre Cathedral in Rubaga, Kampala. The seven-day conference is running from September 21 to 27, 2026.

He described Pastor Kayanja as a pillar of the Born-Again gospel who, in the early 1990s, made a bold declaration to build a permanent church at a time when most Born-Again congregations worshipped in biwempe ‘papyrus-made structures.

"He said he would build a permanent church, and he did. President Museveni later came to commission it. His faith amazed us when we were still struggling as Born-Agains," Mayanja told thousands of delegates.

The Attorney General, who is a former street preacher, also credited President Yoweri Museveni for defending freedom of worship.

He said the President was under pressure to limit Uganda to only three recognized religions — Protestant, Catholic and Islam and to suffocate the Born-Again movement, but he refused.

"President Museveni allowed the Born-Again faith to exist, and it has flourished," he said.

Sharing his personal testimony, Mayanja recounted surviving the regime of former President Idi Amin, during which many Born-Again Christians were killed. He said he served alongside Full Gospel Church leaders such as Apostle Alex Mitala.

He narrated how he once met Amin face-to-face to plead for the release of Makerere University students who had been arrested.

"When I met President Amin, he told me to serve myself tea in his office. I served myself and him. He was happy and reversed the death sentence for me and the students and allowed them to be released. When people heard I had met Amin and secured their release, they were shocked," Mayanja said.

He urged believers to remain faithful to God.

"I believe in the God of miracles. He has blessed me from a poverty-stricken background when I served Him as a young boy, and today I am the Attorney General of Uganda. No one serves God faithfully and is disappointed," he said. "I urge you to support the God of Pastor Robert Kayanja  He is real and He works."

In a subsequent sermon, Tanzanian Bishop John Makosa said Uganda is blessed to have Born-Again Christians in high leadership positions, including the Attorney General.

Bishop Makosa urged children to honor and serve their parents, saying parents are a source of blessings, and advised parents to work hard to leave an inheritance for their children.

He referenced the biblical account of Isaac blessing Jacob, noting that the blessing stood despite Jacob having taken his elder brother Esau's position.

The Big Fix Conference has attracted delegates from over 20 countries including China, Spain, USA, Netherlands, UK, Germany, Canada, Pakistan, India, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, France and South Africa.

The conference, hosted by Pastors Robert and Jessica Kayanja, is featuring Israeli-born American-Canadian televangelist Pastor Benny Hinn, Dr. Kenneth Copeland, and Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, Nigeria.

Pastor Kayanja has announced that the Big Fix Global Conference will become an annual gathering and a spiritual springboard for global revival.
