MUSEVENI THUNDERS AT THE BIG FIX: "OUR MARKET IS IN AFRICA, WE MUST PRODUCE MORE AND SELL THERE"

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has assured Ugandans that wealth lies in massive production and value addition, because the market is ready and waiting. The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) which he described as the only cure that can make Uganda and the entire Africa rich.

The President was speaking as the Chief Guest at the 7-day Holy Spirit Conference dubbed 'THE BIG FIX', hosted by Pastor Robert Kayanja at Miracle Center Cathedral, Lubaga. He preached to believers on how to get out of the pit of poverty.

AFRICAN AWAKENING IS THE KEY

President Museveni said the ideology of the awakening of Africa is the only thing that can transform the economy of this continent.

He gave an example that the best maize and milk in the world comes from here, in Africa, and Africans must realize they have everything they need to be wealthy.

He argued that for Africa to grow economically, it must stop depending on aid from the Western world and instead start manufacturing its own products in large quantities.

ON TANZANIAN RICE

The President blasted those who had attempted to block rice imports from Tanzania into Uganda.

He said they were making a big mistake, because Tanzanian rice is cheaper and its aroma is stronger than Uganda's rice.

He added that if Uganda bans Tanzanian rice, Uganda would be the loser, because Tanzania would retaliate by banning Ugandan products. That would kill the whole spirit of East African integration.

SECURITY AND ONE ARMY

Museveni stressed that for a country to grow economically is not enough it must also protect itself from its enemies.

He proposed that East African nations should have: A single joint army, a common foreign policy, Similar political systems, a single currency which will make full integration possible.

ON COFFEE

The President also urged coffee farmers to always add value to their coffee before exporting it, so that they can earn more than they are earning now.

He commended Pastor Robert Kayanja for preaching the gospel of African awakening and for contributing immensely to Uganda's national income.

After his speech, President Museveni launched three books authored by Pastor Kayanja, including one that focuses on the situation in Karamoja called "Smile Karamoja".

On his part, Pastor Kayanja thanked President Museveni for upholding freedom in Uganda, including the freedom of worship, noting that in the past, Born-Again Christians were left behind and marginalized.

The Big Fix conference lasted seven days and attracted believers from across the world including the USA, UK, Canada, China, Pakistan, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and many others. The main preachers were Dr. Paul Enenche, Dr. Kenneth Copeland, Pastor Benny Hinn and other anointed ministers.
