Ddungu (god of hunters)

Ddungu."god of hunters" Ddungu is believed to be the god of hunters in Buganda kingdom. He came from bunyoro kingdom to Buganda and he is said to have camped in mabiira forest in kyagwe.  Many Baganda claimed that ounce they bells sounding and dog bucks in wilderness the say that dungu is hunting and there should be success in hunting field. Even when you set a trap and you hear the sound of hunting bells  of Ddungu just visit you trap to pick you're hunt.

The origin of Buganda.

The origin of the Baganda. Long ago their lived a man in wilderness known as KINTU. Kintu lived with his one beloved cow. It is believed that kintu got all food from his cow. He drunk milk and ate dung from his cow. One day kintu was wandering in wilderness and so a beautiful lady known as Nambi . He admired the lady and asked her to marry him. Nambi  was Guru's(heaven) daughter. Nambi  had two brothers that is kayikuzi and Walumbe(god of death). Nambi  accepted to marry Kintu and they arranged and visited Guru nambi's  father. When they arrived to guru's palace, Guru welcomed them. Kintu introduced him self to Guru and that he wanted to marry his daughter. Guru accepted but he established tasks for kintu. Guru asked kintu to bring him water in a basket. Kintu fulfilled his task and went on the well to fetch water. He drew the basket in the well but nothing could be fetched in the basket. Kintu got luck and a spider webbed the basket and kintu fetched water to Guru.

Kibuka omumbale.a "god of war"

Buganda's god of war Kibuka omumbale was mukasa's brother. Mukasa is the god of all lakes and waters in the world. Buganda kingdom waged war of expansion on bunyoro kingdom. In this war king Nakibinge " ssekabaka Nakibinge" asked for help from mukasa the god of lakes. Mukasa asked his brother kibuka the god of war to fight for Buganda. Kibuka stationed him self in a cloud and threw arrows to bunyoro fighter's. And they were defeated marking Buganda victorious in the war against bunyoro. There were a number of captives or prisoners of war and a variety of things captured from bunyoro like royal regalia this earned Buganda wealth. Bachwezi empire

Bachwezi/ chwezi. The bachwezi were  descendants of the Batembuzi. The batembuzi were the original settlers in the great lakes region and along the great east African valley. They are believed to have been demigods. They just disappeared and they were descended by the chwezi dynasty. The chwezi are being proclaimed as the great civilised east African empire. The chwezi empire . The empire stretched from  East of Democratic republic of Congo, Uganda western Kenyaq, northern Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi Zambia, south Sudan. The chwezi had the headquarters in present day central Uganda. Social life of the chwezi.  The chwezi had multiple herds of cattle they used to wander with the cattle a cross their empire. They could were hides and skins of the animals they reared. They used also to hunt wild animals. And these could supplement on fruits gathered from forests. Japadhola/ Badama

The jopadhola / badama are Eastern tribe found in eastern Uganda. They belong to the nilotics group of migrants who followed the route of river Nile from northern Uganda . Sudan is their cradle land . The badama belong to the luo speaking group. They speak dhopadhola language which originates from luos. The jopadhola believe that they belong to Adhola who is said to be their original ancestor. That means that adhola started the japadhola tribe. They used to marry at age of 14. Boys in families could hunt wild animals for food . girls used to gather fruits for food.  The jopadhola believed that jok was the supreme being .they offered sacrifices to jok. In return he could reward them with rain and heavy harvest. Nowadays the japhadola practicing mixed farming. They grow crops such as millet and sorghum that is used in brewing local bear called "malwa". This unites elders under trees on beer parties.

Basamya tribe

The basamya is among eastern tribes in Uganda. They speak lusamya as their native language. They belong to Bantu group of people. Who are believed to have migrated from Congo basin. The came to settle in eastern from west. The basamya practice subsistence farming. Mainly the produce is for home consumption. They also rear goats, pigs, rabbits and others. They used to wear skins and hides from livestock. The samya still perform barbaric female genital mutilation. This has brought about females childlessness.
